Hi everyone - now i have a working and stable version of ZM on FC3 i am thinking of upgrading my single, low spec camera.
I have investigated a bit and read some of the entries on this forum regarding capture cards and cameras.
I intend to only have a max of 4 cameras, over time.
Q. can i get away with a 4 port 1 chip card or do i need a 4 port 4 chip version? the former are readily available and cheap on eBay.
Q. what do you recommend wireless or wired cameras, B&W or colour/ B&W @ night.
I have limited funds available for this.
thanks for your help

i would go with the single chip card as you will make a huge saving here. Also you will get about 2 fps accross all 4 inputs so will keep hard disk and proc/ram etc req down. Camera wise depends on scene etc. I currently rin a colour med res, mon med res and day night with IR obviously the day night is best but the most expensive. If light is an issue maybe security lighting and colour cams or else just go with mono but they will require some light. Let me know what your planning on viewing, expected ligh levels etc. Oh and wired all the way
