30+ cameras

Hi,

I have 32 Wanscam HW0029-5 1080P http://wanscam.com/productshow-16-94-1.html and I want to record all of them and store the data for a week minimum.

I was wondering if someone could give me some hardware specs I would need to accomplish this. I do plan on adding more. By the end of this I'll be around 50-70 cameras.

You are going to want a server with 24 cores and 64Gb ram.

You will want fast disks for system root (ssd).

Should the SQL perhaps be on a separate machine?

I guess it depends on how much user interaction is expected, and whether or not any motion detection/alerting etc.

I would want to have motion tracking and alerts so I would probably have to figure out how to do this on two machines.
