Hi there!
I am actually using a system I built with the latest zm livecd. It works very well and gives me exactly what I was looking for...
The only thing what I was not able to find is how to use the programm time-activated. I dont want the system to record during 08:00 - 15:00 because there is a lot of motion in this time that is not of interest to me.
My first idea was to use cron but perhaps there is an undiscovered feature already built in?
I hope that this isn't a silly question that has been answered a thousand times before but I couldn't find an answer...
Best regards,
Salix

idont know how to make it do what you ask but yes it is possible i have read it somewhere on here. If it were my system the only way round it i caould see would be to set a filter to delete everything between the times you say.
Would end up at the same result. I beleive phil is working on an interface just for this but i could be wrong

Do a search for run states and you should find what you need. Basically save the status of the camera set to a recording state, then use cron to switch them to the appropriate recording state when you want. I'm doing the same thing on one of my systems here - continuous recording during the day, motion detection at night.
Hi Salix
Check the following thread. : http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4131
And yes u can use cron to make the changes, it is pretty easy.
