jpeg quality

Post by jameswilson »

its useful having the option to select recording and stream jpg quality but if you have a hybrid system resolution wise its limiting
ie you have 4 cams on a bttv card at 320x240 res
and 4 ip axis 206m Megapixel cams.
now then anything lower than 70 on the card gives awful images but the 206m will still bo ok down to 40 or so
What i was wondering was to have maybe 3 quality setting i dont know say 1 2 and 3. with a setting changeable in options for each. ZM could default to all the same and all cameras to use qual 1 but if you are hybriding you could have a 40, 60 and 80 say. I dont know if this would be too much overhead. And i suppose it merges in with the detection on a lower res previous suggestion.

I think what you are asking for is different JPEG quality settings per camera? Is that right?

Yes
But i was thinking of a way to keep setup easier so you didnt have to alter each camera but i suppose thats just making it to hard either way.
