Is it possible to make a secondary ZM server, which does not have any capturing, but which is only able to view recorded events?
My idea here would be to increase security by allowing "external" access only to the read-only server, which is not able to view any monitors, or to access any settings from the main server.
The implementation idea would be to have both SQL database and NFS disk area on a shared server such, that the viewer ZM would not have any write access to those.
Separate ZM server for viewing events
Re: Separate ZM server for viewing events
Sure it is possible but would be a lot of config and likely not real time as the events, images and database, would have to be copied over from time to time.
You can give users specific permissions to view monitors and events but not change them. You can also set up a web page to view the monitors real time from Zonemionder.
