Anpiz PTZIP204WX4IR (Hikvision OEM PTZ-N2404I-DE3 / DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 )
Anpiz PTZIP204WX4IR (Hikvision OEM PTZ-N2404I-DE3 / DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 )
$150 ( January 2021 ) POE Ptz dome with IR outside of dome.
Works for me but I am not an expert on IP cameras nor security systems. The mounting hardware does not lock and camera can be removed by twisting base. I do have some trouble with IR reflections but cameras are mounted under roof soffets.
Purchased from 2 sources. The amazon ones had newer serial numbers and had internal mics. the Ebay ones did not have mics. Neither source included the power adapters which arent needed with a POE switch. Found updated firmware that would would generate a live picture on the cameras web page without downloading a plugin. Advise to lock these cameras off of your WAN and allow access only to zoneminder and your admin machine, just to be safe

Looks like a nice camera. Odd that it doesn’t lock in the mount. My Hikvision PTZ has a grub screw that stops rotation.
Thanks for posting it.

Thanks for the reply. Regarding the locking base I did some searching and you previously mentioned having a model DS-2DE4A425IW-DE. Hoping I had missed something, looked up the manual for that model and one of the configurations was as pictured below. Is this the locking system you mention ? The model(s ) I listed here do not have that locking base.
.
. and LOL, had to lookup a 'grub screw' . Ya learn something every day

Yes, you’ve worked that all out. I suppose you can’t really complain for the money. You could glue it on.

Re: Anpiz PTZIP204WX4IR (Hikvision OEM PTZ-N2404I-DE3 / DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 )
Good morning.
I'm looking for a wi-fi camera supported by ZoneMinder
for a research project
(i need both video and PTZ API support).
I have seen that this camera produced by Anpiz/Hikvision might
be useful, as its hardware has the features suitable for
the project.
However, I need a Wi-Fi camera, while this Anpiz device
seems to be a POE (Power Over Ethernet) camera.
Do you know a device provided by Anpiz/Hikvision that is
equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter and that is API-compatible with
ZoneMinder as well ?
@jperkins:
In your hw configuration, was ZoneMinder able to support even the PTZ
(Pan/Tilt/Zoom) functionalities of the camera ? Or just the video
grabbing via RSTP ?
If PTZ is supported, how it works ? Have you used the Onvif.pl
PERL script for device control, or have you written a custom
PERL script (.pl) that leverages on the RESTful API used by the
configuration web interface of the camera ?
Is the zoom functionality supported ? Or only pan-tilt are available ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello
Sorry I was not interested in nor know anything about using wifi for security systems. I'm sure you have good reasons for wanting a wifi based system.
Yes the PTZ worked. I utilized the HikVision.pm protocol as included with zoneminder.
the user/password is the same one that is used to access the stream . It is NOT the ONVIF user/password you can setup in the camera
I could not get the onvif.pm PTZ working with this camera, however the HikVision.pm script met my needs.
Zoneminder will send warnings until you get the correct serial number loaded correctly into the control device (IP Camera E4789 in the posted screenshot) . It was necessary to restart Zoneminder after every edit to the HikVision.Pm and/or the control tab on zoneminder. This caused me a lot of issues until I realized this.
It did require a patch to get the zoom working. The patch has been applied to the source code . It is easy enough to make the change yourself if you are using a released version of zoneminder.

Re: Anpiz PTZIP204WX4IR (Hikvision OEM PTZ-N2404I-DE3 / DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 )
Thanks for all the work and the info on the Anpviz OEM version of the HikVision DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3. I have several of these HikVision cameras and they all seem to work well in ZM, including the Pan Tilt and Zoom functions.
I was attracted to the possibility of firmware that does not need the plugin since I don't use Windows. My other OEM DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 cameras (Linovision) refused to load the Anpviz firmware referenced above. So I bought one of the Anpviz cameras (through Amazon) for testing. It arrived earlier this week. It came with what appears to be a newer version of firmware (V5.6.16 build 200925), which still DOES require the plugin.
I did not want to load older firmware into the camera since I do not have a way to go back to Build 200925 should I want to. Anpviz promotes their tech support services so I sent them an email asking if there was a plugin-free firmware version and if so please guide me to it.
They answered within 24 hours:
"Sorry, currently this camera does not support plug-in-less mode, you need to install the plug-in according to the prompts to preview"
FWIW the SADP tool does work without issue on Linux in Wine, and the plugin does work with the Pale Moon browser, again running in Wine. Without the plugin you can still access all of the camera configuration pages with any browser; the only thing missing will be the live camera views.
All in all it seems that these are pretty good cameras for US $150.

thats a bummer that the newer firmware doesnt support live view in the config page. thanks for the info. I would consider downgrading and if it doesnt meet your needs then return the camera. then again there are multiple ways to get the live feed. My cams are still working well. I probably will not upgrade the firmware based on the info you have provided. thanks again
Re: Anpiz PTZIP204WX4IR (Hikvision OEM PTZ-N2404I-DE3 / DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3 )
Please note that I have a report that passthrough mode isn't working for DS-2DE2A404IW-DE3.
I would love if someone can give me access to one to test against

You mean h264 passthru ?
v1.34.23 zoneminder this is working On my clones aka oem's
I have a spare one of these clones/oem and could setup access. Would need to refresh myself what ports to allow thru firewall. Send a pm to follow-up. Thanks
