Sorry for disturb but possible somebody help newbie.
I'm not specialist in Linux and ZM. They have worked correctly till last time.
Some days ago ZM updated to v1.35.18 and after that I can't computer died.
ZM uses all CPU and RAM and I often can't connect to the comp. Only sometimes I can connect to the web-server and stop ZM. After stopping ZM comp starts work normally.
System: Ubuntu 18.05, Nginx, SQL, ZM v1.35.18, php 7.2
When I stopped ZM:
ZM kills my computer
Re: ZM kills my computer
SO you installed the latest bleeding edge development code and didn't read anything about it.
You need to edit your image buffers down to something more like 2.

Even with framebuffer = 2, zmc some process use 2gb of ram. Some others (same cam and config) only use 100 mb of ram.

Re: ZM kills my computer
Would be worth checking the keyframe interval where similar cameras are using differing amounts of memory.

Re: ZM kills my computer
Changing of framebuffer to 2 didn't help me. I manually downgraded system to v1.34.23 and problem was solved.
I'm real newbie in Linux and I don't know how ZM was updated to 1.35.xx
Thanks

Re: ZM kills my computer
You should not be using Zoneminder on a computer that you need for other things.
Also recommend to install Zoneminder on a "server" version of Linux without a GUI desktop.
Running the development version, 1.35.x, is not for the faint of heart or someone who doesn't have a working knowledge of Linux!

Re: ZM kills my computer
In my case: computer = remote small server which only works with ZM (three my private cameras) and two small web-sites. Without GUI and any other. after problem with update I couldn't connect to it via ssh or web-interface - everything works very slow.bbunge wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 8:22 pm You should not be using Zoneminder on a computer that you need for other things.
