cann't get image using quickcam

Post by tomlj »

Dear all,

I am trying to get my logitech quickcam express work on zm at my fedora core 3 box.
The quickcam is working fine under xawtv. But after defining monitors according to zm_manual, I cannot view any images from zm.

I noticed there is some errors occur in httpd log file.
Would you please help me to figure out the problem?

I tried zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v -U admin -P admin, and set zm according to the camera's parameters. But still cann't get the image. There is an error message from /var/log/messages ERR [Can't shmget, probably not enough shared memory space free: Invalid argument]. Does it mean the RAM is not enough? or harddisk size is not enough?

I modified /etc/sysctl.conf and add the following lines:
kernel.shmall = 134217728
kernel.shmmax = 134217728
Then I restarted fedora core 3.

There is still no image in zm.
There are some errors shown in /var/log/messages:
Localhost zmu[4272]:ERR [shared memory not initialized by capture daemon]
Localhost Zms[4276]]:ERR [shared memory not initialized by capture daemon]

Would you please help me to figure out the problem?

Thanks and regards,
