Automatic switch to liscense plate reading settings at night

So during the day I can grab liscense plates pretty easily. I want to use the same cameras at night to do so, but to also automatically switch over from good night vision settings to the best liscense plate reading settings.

Something like:
Default: good night vision settings
Sense headlights/ tail lights: switch exposure and focus to my manual settings and grab the liscense plate
no headlights / tail lights: switch back to best night vision settings.

Sounds like a good chance to use ML to detect a car and fire off a script to reconfigure the camera.
