ZM 1.36 & Annke cameras
ZM 1.36 & Annke cameras
Thinking in installing Annke C800 with 8 channels and 2TB HD, saw there's a thread for C800, would like to have a feedback from those of you who have installed Annke system in ZM 1.36, any recommendations/regrets, should I go with Annke or stay away from it? Would you recommend other brands instead? Thinking in buying in the next few weeks.
Thanks for your comment/suggestion

I've got the 4k version, unfortunately it's not usable with my current setup. The live stream is very choppy and motion detection doesn't work at all. Reducing the resolution helps, but the idea of a 4k camera is to capture more data not less. For the time being I've put my back in the box.
I also have a couple of C500's which work fantastically well, you can switch to colour night vision. But you'll need some background light to help with that.

Sorry for my questions, trying to understand if I'll have similar problem if I get a similar one:Maximo1970 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 13, 2023 3:15 pm I've got the 4k version, unfortunately it's not usable with my current setup. 1) cameras I'm thinking in buying is C800 turret (6MP 4K), is this one what you have?
2) is it possible that your recorder is choppy because it's outdated and can't handle the new camera?

2) I'm running ZM across 5 VM's each with 8 vCPUs and 16Gb RAM, with 3 cameras per server. All of my cameras record directly to ZM.
Re: ZM 1.36 & Annke cameras
How many servers?
So hey... you can free up a ton of cpu/ram by tell ZM to scale down to something like 720p by setting the resolution on source tab to 720p... your passthrough recordings will still be high res...

Funny, that's what I have set already. But still have high CPU and RAM usage, which is why I have so many servers in my setup. Anymore suggestions I'm happy to make changes to see if it works.

Maybe you could post a typical monitor/camera's config pages so we can see if anything jumps out at us?
Also, what hardware are the servers on?

I'm running my servers on ESXi which is hosted on a DL360 G7 with 2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5649 @ 2.53GHz.
Here's a couple of the config pages.

You're running in modect? Can you afford mocord? Then you could reduce those buffers to close to nothing.
Also, you could clear out the remarks in optional encoder parms. In passthrough, I'm not sure the crf does anything, so try clearing that as well, leaving the whole thing blank.
