PTZ movement configuration issues

Post by veehexx »

i've recently purchased my first PTZ cameras and have successfully got motion working via ZM.
However on both cameras, i'm getting some undesirable effects.

IPcam1: Tapo TC70. Camera only supports PT movement (no Z) which works well most of the time, but after a random period then it will refuse to accept PT requests from ZM and results in the camera hard-rebooting itself.
This cam uses the 'Netcat ONVIF' profile which seems work ok.

IPCam2: Genbolt GB216D-K. PTZ which also seems to like the 'Netcat ONVIF' profile. however it only moves its full range, and not stepped movement as you would expect. I've created my own Control profile based on the 'netcat ONVIF' profile to ensure it is working in 'continuous' mode, and as per the TC70, set the Control 'Auto Stop Timeout' to 0.2, but no luck. Camera is still moving full movement.

I've used the windows ODM (Onvif Device Manager) tool on both cameras. It doesn't seem to like to talk to the TC70 (some SOAP error that i'm trying to figure out), but PTZ works perfect with the GB216D camera in 'continuous move' mode.

whats do i need to do next to figure out whats going on?

Nothing in the logs?
I'd expect on at least cam2 you'd see something from the auto-stop command, like unknown or something?

getting the following for 1 pan-right request:

Not sure what that actually means as dont forgot that ODM is able to control the camera sensibly - short press on PTZ results in a small step. Press & Hold the adjustment buttons results in a longer movement.

I've gone for a factory reset on the TPLink Cam1 - so far so good even though it's only been 40mins.

Cam2 movement issue looks to be a ZM specific problem.
ODM and ispy's AgentDVR both working as expected.

Factory reset means you'll need to follow the procedure for a new, fresh out of the box camera - again.
