I have a TP-Link C310 camera. How do I add it to ZoneMinder?
I've attached a screenshot of ZoneMinder in my browser. It would help if someone told me what to fill in for each box.
PS what's the URL for ZoneMinder documentation?

Re: How to add an ip camera?
I would try ONVIF to see if the camera is detected by Zoneminder. I looked at the camera specs and it does not say it is ONVIF compatible but it seems to be a recent cam so it likely does use ONVIF.
I would also use a micto SD card in the cam to save events as a backup in case Zoneminder goes down.
For starters I would keep the cam resolution at 720P or 1080P.

Re: How to add an ip camera?
C310 camera works ok on wired (it even formats the SD card in the camera) but doesn't work on wireless using TP-Link's Tapo Android app. It never gets an IP address assigned by the DHCP server on my TP-Link Archer C80 router. All my wireless devices connect Ok to my router.
I've just been trying a new Sunnyjane Battery Outdoor Wireless Camera. That has no wired socket but same problem with my router. I've tried chatting with the camera's customer services using the Aiwit Android app for connecting the camera, but they don't reply.
I realise that this is not withing this forum's subjects. Do you have any idea for a forum on which to ask for help?

Have you forgotten a wireless MAC filter table in the router?

Not sure what you meant by "wireless MAC filter table in the router". Is it the DHCP Server's MAC address once it's assigned an ip address or the ARP Access Control binding? Since the router never assigns an ip address for the camera's wireless, I don't know that MAC address as it's not printed on the camera. I do know the MAC address for the camera's wired but that doesn't help.
I've also asked at https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/tp-link-c ... ter.79395/. The C310 camera is a Onvif camera as Android app Onvier found it. Details can be found on that webpage.

I suspect Doug may be thinking of a blacklist/banlist in the router (actively disallowing your camera), or a whitelist that is missing the MAC address of your camera. Some routers/hotspots/etc. have this to add an extra layer of security. Even if you know the credentials for the WiFi, or have physical access by cable, you don't get any joy.johnaaronrose wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 8:36 am @dougmccrary

Either way, if such a thing is set up, the router will not only "not assign an IP address", it likely won't talk at all, or pass packets from the camera.

As I think that I said before, the Tapo Android app allows me to connect by ethernet and I can see video. However, my Android tablet does not allow me to 'see' the camera as CAM.... which the Tapo documentation says should happen. I have not been able to find any router settings 'disallowing; wifi connection in some way.

It is possible that the cam and the device with the app are on different WIFI bands. The c80 is a dual band router and I suspect that you are using the same SSID for both the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz bands. One work around is to turn off the 5 GHz on the router or assign different SSID's to the bands. Then connect your android device to the 2.4 GHz band and try the cam setup again.johnaaronrose wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:07 pm C310 camera works ok on wired (it even formats the SD card in the camera) but doesn't work on wireless using TP-Link's Tapo Android app. It never gets an IP address assigned by the DHCP server on my TP-Link Archer C80 router. I've now disabled Smart Connections on the router: that facility caused 2.4 GHz &5GHz bands to use the same SSID. This allowed me to turn off the 5GHz band. I've also turned off the 5GHz for both the Guest & IoT networks. I've rebooted the router. Still camera's wifi doesn't operate. The '''Cam... network isn't available to my phone or tablet: both Android with plenty of memory & storage. I've uninstalled the tapo app on my phone and installed it again. I've removed the device i.e. camera in tapo. I've added the C310 in tapo. I disconnected the ethernet cable. I selected the Wireless option rather than the Ethernet/Wired option first. It then went through the saetup and provided me with a temp[orary '''Cam''' network for my tablet to connect to: never done that before. Setup finished and camera now works. Thanks for your help.
PS I'll now do the same for my TC70 camera, which has wireless only. Still can't get recently bought Sunnyjane camera to work: just bought it from Amazon. That must be defective. So it's a return to Amazon!
