Video play Firefox

Post by busymind »

Watching a record something weird is happening with all the control buttons, once you select and click on the track (gray area), almost all the buttons start clipping and CPU goes high. The video play OK but the start and pause are alternating on the video.

After latest update yesterday the play starts where I click, seems fixed now.
Station with Debian 12, Kde, Firefox 128.7.0esr (64-bit) Nvidia Quadro M2000, 4G Memory Xenon.CPU

Sometimes I had similar behavior.
But it was so rare that I did not analyze the situation.

I have been seeing this as well. I believe it is due to how we store the mp4 in a fragmented way so that we can watch it while still recording.

A note, appears also when I watch a recorded video, from events. and not rare, reproducible on any video.
How To:
{Console > Events > Pick a video from list > double click on video > start's playing fine (now after upgrade), then go in full screen (almost 60%) > with happy clipping > double click back into page continues clipping. } -- sorry for details,

That 60 % - the outer black portion is the firefox full screen.

Sometimes the video does not goes in full screen, you have to play with the buttons to achieve the full screen. I have to double click again to go in full screen or remains only the play controls on top without image. Double click on black image will go back into web browser frame.
I tried to do a gif of the hole operation but still gets large to attach it here.
Another side effect, CPU goes high while watching in this clipping state, mines are enough powerful (). But, who is watching recorded videos :)

Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce this issue :(
By the way, try this PR: https://github.com/ZoneMinder/zoneminder/pull/4237
Maybe it will fix the issue :)
