windows xp locks up and network stops working

Post by nickcol »

Hi,

I have 2 zm servers running the bittorrent zoneminder 1.3 with 12 and 16 cameras.

We have the following problem which affects the 3 workstations which are used to view events via the zm web interface. 2 pcs are xp home and one runs xp pro.

You can be viewing events or searching for events. A new zm window pops up but at that point the workstation locks up and the network stops working. Network drives are disconnected and you are unable to browse the internet or reconnect to zm.
Rebooting XP fixes this until the next time it happens.

Has anyone had this and is there a cure. ?

Thanks

Nick

I have a win2000 machine that does this, and its not related to zm as it used to do i before i found zm, what i have found is over periods of time the network fails. I have narrowed it down to being a bandwitdh/time issue, ie little bandwidth it lasts longer if i nail the network it fails in approx 4 hours. I think my issue is a driver issue but i of yet have failed to find a cure,
FYI its a gigibyte board athlon 2800 with embeded ethernet

Our 3 workstations have 1000mb network cards along with both zm servers.

After my problems I have installed firefox explorer on my pc to try instead of ie6 and I have had no problems so far.
