help!!!
I have decided my windows version of ffmpeg is b!_!ggered as its not generating viseos that play back cleanly, does anyone know where i can get a new version from (ie already an exe) as i dont think im caperble of comiling one

I still use version 8 here because it is easier from command line calls, But Encoder 9 works and hooks in what your using to program with right now.

yes my server is down. my broadband has given up hopefully it will be back soon.

i looked at media encoder. but it looked over complicated for my usage plus i couldnt get it to create vids from large amounts of jpegs so i gave up on it. maybe i shouldnt of?

Update
Congrads James, I got Events playback!!! Yahoo for that, But with every bit of good news comes a little bad.
As soon as I go to the export button I get this

As soon as I saw the 1st. capture I thought (Hard coded path) No image was displaying. Then after the export button and the 404 error kinda sealed it. Looks like another input exchange from the path variable is needed again <G>
Cycle View now ends as soon as it comes to a url grab and freezes with last image from ZM defined cams. So it is still not quite there yet.
Everything else I checked seems to be working. Map and Record /playback from map is ok on zm and urls.
THis thing is really coming together James.... The camera descriptions was a really nice addition too!
Question, Can you use the frame around the window to put small command buttons in ? Just thinking that start a record session from the main camera montage screen would be really handy instead of limiting it to map view. It would be nice to see something in a window, click the icon and start a record session for that window. Just a thought!

Regarding the record thing, i have been thinkinga about this for a while now. The problem with just blind recording of cams is the belief that recording is recording full stop. Now if you are remote or have some remote cams and are showing a 36 way spilt ( i know my test sites do this) then you press record and expect highish speed recordings. Now because your on 36 way view you are killing the bandwidth, si im not convinced of this one. The way round it i thought was to us playback and the sql bits to get the most recent event from the server. I dont know if you have noticed but you can even play back a current event from here, IE i use mocord mainly and a 10 min section length. If an event occurs i have to wait thioll it ends (up to 10 mins) before i can play it back. There are some issue with this as my app doesnt know how many frames are in this currenst event cos its going up all the time lol.
Anyhow what do you think, bad news is that wouldnt work with a url., and when you say buttons in the frame where do you mean? on top of the camera images?

re the card issue stuck it in a test zm and once i tried to get any images off it the machine rebooted, constantly lol
I can only assume its cos its a cheapy pc hips mobo in there will stick it in a proper box soon

I could not see any real difference James. I watched the screen but had to go to work so did nto get a chance to really see if it made things faster or slower. To the next items.
Looks like you still have some path issues in the EXPORT function.

You solved the one as soon as the export screen loads. As you see it now has an image, but hitting one of the export type buttons results in errors on all export buttons. I think the rest of the script is probably ok as if you hit continue it thinks it is sending say 107 frames to fflmpg and it writes a 0 byte file in which ever format selected. It thinks it is getting the frames but is not, so I think once the path is resolved, everything else will work.
I rechecked cycle view. It is not actually locking up it stops cycling after the last ZM defined camera, My case is Camera 4 It keeps camea 4 live and displayed in the cycle box but never advances to camera 5 or 6 which are url views. Camera 4 stays live until I kill it.
OK what I meant by record from the montage screens and can a command box be issued is something sililar to this:

See the little record icon in camera box 1, 2 and 13.
Instead of having to go to live viewer from MAP DISPLAY, Bring up LIVE VIEWER from Main Montage view screen. Clicking on the icon would bring up "Live Viewer" and thus could start a record to jpg session or maybe even yet when clicking the record icon it would bring up live viewer for that camera and automatically go in to RECORD mode until you stopped it in LIVE VIEWER. Live Viewer will record both URL and ZM views, so this could be helpful to quickly activate a url viewed record session.

i think you are using ffmpeg 0.4.9 and yes it does that you need 0.4.8 its about 2 meg try that in your ffmpeg folder

Regarding the cycle view i have had a look and cant see anything that would cause a problem, i did find a bug but i dont think its related.
I have had your cams in my cycle for over an hour now and it goes in and out of url mode without a problem i wonder if there is something going on with your lan?
Maybe you could use my zm as url images or i could post some images of your cams on my server and you could pull them off.
I have added a cycle refresh setting in the settings page for you to play with and now the intelligent actually does enable and disable something but only in cycle.
I have added 3 buttons to each cam view 1-4 at the mo only. These are green , blue and red
red open live view window in record mode
blue open live view only
green opens playback window and automatically quiries the db for th relevant cam.
record and playback will only show if local record and playback modes are enabled,
Id love to be able to place butoons on the title bar of each control but i dont think its possible as its a title bar and as such cant contain any controls. The only way i caould do this is to paint the controls over each form as seperate its, keeping this synced as windows moved without the control being owned by the relevant form would be an application in itself.
I hopemy idea seem sok to you.

Check the beta you have up there.
I have downloaded it twice and installed it and removed it a few times. Looks like that is an older version, Has no database name entry on playback screen and the other features are missing from previous version.
