James,
He may be talking about your link. They would have to grab from
http://217.154.38.122:8080/version2/zm4msbeta.zip Now as you have removed the one from the root and it is under version2/ now. The original posting link is now bad from the 1st. post on this subject.

Startup Error

Post by wa4bro »

James,

Just downloaded 2.73 beta here at work. I am using .net 2.0 Release so I have to click on the manifest file to install. Installed ok, but as soon as I log in I get the Error: "The property custom1time could not be created fromit's default value.Error Message:24/12/2005 is not a valid value for DateTime.

Course this install is 12/27/2005 US values. Have not seen this one before. But it is not one you can continue and recover from. It just repeats and will not allow you to do anything but quit.

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

This appears to be a new error in the beta that has just occured with James last version. I use .net 2.0 beta at home and have not seen this problem. Here at work I use the .net 2.0 release version. I am not sure if this is isolated to the 2.0 release or not.

James will have to have a go at this one. I was using an earlier release on this machine until today and it was not an issue, but I was about 4 betas behind on this machine until today. It looks as though something hardcoded was left int he beta that is not agreeing witht he current datetime variable.

beta update
I think i have finally removed the need for net 2 beta. I have changed the installer code to automatically get the requirement from ms before install will continue.

Fixed the error with the null refernce on setup. Also fixed the problem regarding custom auto views.

Happy new year
and sorry for the slow response on this one but during the pocket pc development of zm4ppc i broke my visual studio lol
