Corey, sorry mate i have an issue. I have a stock(ish) ctu install (my test server) and have tried to rpm update from 1.21.3 to 1.22.0, should i be updating to 1.21.4 first?

Anyhow i get the x10 activehome missing dep and i cant yum it like the first poster did. If i try to install the x10 module you have linked to that fails too with 2 deps astro time and date i think.

Anyhow thought id let you know, im personally in no rush cos as soon as i have a working 1.22 to test against ill have to write in that damn raw support lol

This looks like you are trying to run the schema as a regular script. You can't, it needs to be passed into mysql to execute.

I'll give it a go. I've used both 1.21.4 and 1.22 on a SUSE 10 system, but have had trouble with 1.22 on a Fedora Core 4 build. I was going to install a second OS anyway for testing ZM, (in case I buggered something up somewhere), so will be testing it on a pretty vanilla system.

It's for FC3? or FC4? I'll download whichever you want me to test it on.

I'm suprized that you had problems on the FC4 Vanila. I have been using FC4 to work out the scripts for the RPMs and have had no trouble what so ever.

The RPMs for now are only FC3/ZoneMinder Core 3.

I'm now checking into the above possible problems tring to figure what if anything has gone wrong. Guess I will have to put some scrap together for a test system so I can see whats going on.

I'm convinced I did something odd, rather than something inherent in FC4

hey Cyl,

(sorry to hijack thread)

are you running ffmpeg on FC4? zm installed fine without it, then i went and found an ffmeg rpm ( and all the deps ) to install it.

i un-installed zm, then re-installed and it errored out. i then un-installed all the rpms and tried again and it installed fine.

i'm just trying to track down a rpms for ffmpeg since i can't seem to compile it from source.

Okay so I think I've got everything taken care of (short of some bugs I thought I seen reported in regards to some web page stuff, that will clear out with 1.22.1 unless I get around to putting the patchs in my self.).
Disclaimer:
This still should be on a test machine, I make no promises that this will not destroy items on your drives.

I don't want to hear that it is broken help me. If you find a problem track it back as far as you can with clips from the logs, what you were trying to do step by step, etc...
If you don't give me enough of a description, I will not bother to ask any questions and you will just be over looked till I have the time to ask.

Now without further audo the file is here
You will also notice that there is no package for X10, it's in the zm package as I was unable to separate out all the dependencies so no since in separating the package.

This package is for CTU/ZoneMinder/Fedora Core 3.
To update:
Stop zm
rpm -U zm-1.22.0-1.1.fc.root.i386.rpm
service zm start

You should see upon starting a bunch of info go by as the DB and /etc/zm.conf are updated. If you get an error here give me as much detail as you can.

To install fresh:
rpm -i zm-1.22.0-1.1.fc.root.i386.rpm
/usr/lib/zm/bin/zminit (will ask you for info. just follow the instructions)
service zm start

Cheers,
Corey

PS Once this is released the mandrake version will be done by Ross shortly after. Thought I'd answer since I know someone will ask :D

I should have mentioned that if you upgraded to the previous package 1.22.0-0.1 that you should either remove it, or if you backed up the entire database from your previous version you should restore it.

Corey

Hi Corey,
You probably need to change this in file /usr/lib/zm/bin/zminit...

Original Line 84:
cat $ZM_PATH_BIN/init/zmschema.sql | mysql -h $ZM_DB_HOST -u $ZM_DB_USER -p$ZM_DB_PASS $ZM_DB_NAME

Change to:
cat $ZM_PATH_BIN/../init/zmschema.sql | mysql -h $ZM_DB_HOST -u $ZM_DB_USER -p$ZM_DB_PASS $ZM_DB_NAME

Cheers!
Jose.

Yep, your right, thanks for the catch.
The new one is building and will be the same version. Should be up in two minutes.

Cheers,
Corey
[edit] The new file with correction is now in place.

Another one...

Variable "ZM_PATH_ZMS" is set to /cgi-bin/nph-zms, but...

on /etc/httpd/conf.d/zm.conf the path to the streaming servers are set as

Code: Select all

ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/zm/ "/usr/lib/zm/cgi-bin/"
An the fix is... Set "ZM_PATH_ZMS" to cgi-bin/zm/nph-zms

Cheers!
Jose.
