Hallo
I got an ZM PC whit 8 Axis 205 cams, and it works great!
But it starts to hurt my wallet, so I would like to buy some regular cameras with coax. The thing is that the new camera locations that I would like to have is same distance away from my central Zm PC, so I thought it would be easy to just stream the different channels from my Hauppauge ImpactVCB card, but it wasn’t so easy as I thought. I have tried some different programs both in windows and in Linux, but without result. I have also searched your forum but again no result.
So my question is!
What is the easiest way to stream the channels from the client PC to my central ZM, booth in windows and in Linux?
And if I have to buy a different video card! So be it!
Thanks, Edward

Hi Edward,
Streaming from another ZM box and using it as a slave is possible and there are a few threads about it:

I also remember seeing something about someone using something to stream from windoz back in the 1.21.x forum I thought but I can't find it.

Corey

Windoz Streaming
A while ago (before ZM) I would stream from old WYSE 600Mhz terminals with Windows 98SE using a program called ConquerCam. The cameras were USB connected. It worked ok. I had done this for about 2 years. Four cameras and 4 WYSE terminals. Two of the camera servers were WLAN connected to the network. (USB Wireless) and two were connected at 100 full duplex.
YES!!!!! this is so xxx freaking cool!
How can you then stream from several inputs? Do you have to build more databases then? Or can you just change the port number?
What is the easiest way?
Thanks ,Edward

If you are asking about streaming serveral cameras from a remote zm slave all you have to do is set the correct remote path in the central ZM server for each camera. If you have authintication turned on in the slave you just have to add to the path &user=your_user&pass=your_password and that will get you going.
[cam 1 from slave]
host 10.0.0.200
port 80
Path /cgi-bin/zm/zms?mode=jpeg&monitor=1&scale=100&maxfps=15
[cam 2 from slave]
host 10.0.0.200
port 80
Path /cgi-bin/zm/zms?mode=jpeg&monitor=2&scale=100&maxfps=15
All other setting for image size and pallet should match between the slave and the server.
