Matrox Cronos

Post by znelbok »

I have a Matrox cronos image grabber card installed. Mandrake lists it as a Happauge WinTV card.

The card produces no image on the screen, is there any chance that I ahev done something worng somewhere and it may work, or should it just work straight off the bat. xawtv produces no images either.

Should I just give up on this card?

Your best bet would be to check http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki and see if you find any information on your card.
Actualy I ended up getting curious and had a peek for my self. Here is a starting point for you to look at regarding your card: http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index.ph ... ST.saa7134
That sould get you going and save you a bit of work.

I had a look at the links and the Matrox Cronos Plus (mine is the Cronos - no plus) was listed with the saa7134 chip (as pointed out above).

This didnt look right to me so I removed the cover and the main chip is a Conexant CX23880-17, at least this chip is listed, although the card is not.

Still working on it though
