No image?? no clue

Post by stabak »

ok here it is,

Suse 10 x86_64
webcam logitech quickcam communicate STX with spca5xx
apache 2.0.54
Mysql 4.1.13
all requirements ok
configured properly...
streaming works with , xawtv ,gqcam and other applications

Symptom : no streaming at all (monitor, etc), Zone produces the image just fine , Record produces events but browser(s) show nothing out of the : http://localhost/cgi-bin/nph-zms?mode=j ... 1140603604 OR plain zms

Checked all zm logs and apache2 messages and can't find anything interesting other than below :

warn.log : Feb 22 11:14:40 localhost zmc_dvideo0[6368]: ERR [Failed to set picture attributes: Invalid argument]

zmu -q -d/dev/video0 -v

Apologize in advance if this is a v4l or camera/driver problem or just ME but after a thorough search i found others with exact same probs and tried all proposed remedies without success

Check your apache log if cgi scripts are running. try to get still images in viewing monitor. Probably this is apache not configured. I think that is not your driver/camera problem.

Thanks Maciekc for the reply... I don't get still images either so I was afraid its a permission thing or the zmc, nph-zmc....

How can I test the cgi scripts are running or hav errors? Never had an issue before with cgi... and scripts.
Nop nothing interesting with cgi executions

It must be something with zms, nph-zms. You can try to get images directly from url:
http://localhost/cgi-bin/nph-zms?mode=j ... &scale=100
and
http://localhost/cgi-bin/zms?mode=jpeg& ... &scale=100

check your error.log and access.log of apache - /var/log/apache/ - that's the path in my debian, should be almost the same in your distro.
Please post your a part of log when you open monitor in browser.

I don't get anything directly other than the binary (save as) or the execution on konqueror for example

That's is the thing, i just get only this from access.log and nothing from error :

10.0.0.1 - - [24/Feb/2006:08:29:18 +0200] "GET /zm/zm.php?view=watchevents&max_events=10&mid=1 HTTP/1.1" 200 3643 "http://localhost/zm/zm.php?view=watch&m ... &scale=100" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5"

Does Konqueror support mpjpeg image streams? If not you can try the Cambozola applet instead, you can use that anyway to test with in the meantime.
