I can't get any Image

Post by phaidon »

Hi,
I just installed CTU Zoneminder. Installation was very easy and Zoneminder is now working 8) , but ZM is not able to get any images from my network camera.

I can see the image of my camera by typing http://192.168.178.2/image.jpg on my browser, so the image is there. Now I tried to read it by ZM doing

Add New Monitor
Monitor -> Source Type= Remote

Source
-> Remote Host Name http://192.168.178.2
-> Remote Host Port= 8481 (thats the default Port, called 'Transfer Image' . I also tried Port 80)
and even(because it didn't work)
-> Remote Host Path= image.jpg

I even enabled ZM_OPT_REMOTE_CAMERAS in Options/Network

I'm using a Digitus Network Camera. Anyone an Idea?

Drop the http:// in the host name field.

Of course I tried this. I even dropped the Field 'Remote Host Port' and tried it with the field 'Remote Host Path'=image.jpg and /image.jpg

*EDIT*
Port 8481 is ON

nmap -p 1-16000 192.168.178.2
Starting nmap 3.81 ( http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) at 2006-02-24 01:34 CET
Interesting ports on 192.168.178.2:
(The 15995 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed)
PORT STATE SERVICE
21/tcp open ftp
80/tcp open http
81/tcp open hosts2-ns
8481/tcp open unknown
8484/tcp open unknown
MAC Address: 00:03:1B:56:58:FC (Cellvision Systems)

Nmap finished: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 25.309 seconds

Perhaps it's a problem caused by my camera? I tried every possible opportunity :?

Hi there phaidon

One thing that i can see in your tail is that the connection is refused by the camera, do you have any user settings set up in the camera for access to it ?
Best Regards

If you can see images on http://192.168.178.2/image.jpg in your browser then this implies you shoudlbe using port 80 by the way, otherwise you would have had to specify it in the url.

What make and model of camera do you have?

re

I Found the problem: it was a different setting of the solution between my camera (640x480) and zm (320x240).

:idea:
