No Name Link

Hi.

I'm trying to get ZM to work. Currently, I can add monitors and do everything but get video. There is no "link" on the name section (the function is orange and the source is red, but there is no link in the name).

The "status" on the top reads "stopped" and when I try to make it "active", it doesn't work.

I've looked at the logs: /var/log/messages and /var/log/localmessages and /tmp/zm*.log. There are no ERRs.

The camera works with xawtv (/dev/video1, composite #3, NTSC).

I tried playing around for a few days with this. I've had no luck previewing any video in ZM. I've looked at the FAQs, increased shared memory, read the posts on the forums and am at a loss as to how to get this to work.

What am I doing wrong? What should I try to do?

if you cant get zm to 'running' state not a lot is going to work. There will be some messages somewhere in your logs unless you dont have syslog running

i need a bit more. If you look through your messages log from just after the system has started (reboot if necesary) the weill be a zm starting entry. If i can have the previous say 15 events to that and the next 50?
