Anyone running Zoneminder with an Avermedia NV3000 card?

Post here to ask any questions about hardware suitability, configuration in ZoneMinder, or experiences. If you just want to know if something works with ZoneMinder or not, please check the Hardware Compatibility sections in the forum, and the Wiki first. Also search this topic as well.

curious as to whether these are worth getting if Im intending on a linux-only application. Looking for a good quality multi-input card that doesnt limit me to 30fps for all cameras connected combined.

Hi,
AVer carries a series of capture cards for Windows AND Linux, with bundled software.

The Linux series are the DX5000. These are certified to work on linux, and from what I've seen, they use the Conexant (Brooktree) chips. So these should definitely work on Linux and, hence, in Zoneminder. If you buy this you'll be paying also for the software, which seems to include an embedded Linux. So it might be worth a try, and even some benchmarking against Zoneminder.

From what I can see, the AVer cards are pretty much the same Kodicom cards. If this is the case, then they'll probably work on Linux. Still, I'd buy the Kodicom card to avoid paying for the bundled AVer software.

Regards,
Jose.
