Hello again folks, I've been away for a while, hope you're all well
As some of you may remember, I'm putting together a ZM kit for a garden centre soon, and you've been helping me out with spec and stuff.
It turns out, that what would be REALLY nice, would be to include an underwater camera for some of our stock ponds. I've seen various underwater cameras on different websites, but was wondering if anyone here has experience of these things? Or any recommendations? As we may need several cameras, price is really an issue and we don't want to be spending £300 for each camera if we can help it.
thanks,
Mark
Submersible Cameras
underwater camera
I ran ZM with my underwater camera since it was convenient. It's a submersible bw camera with uv illumination. The cabling is basic and it works well.

$129 but you may find it for less elsewhere. Fun stuff!

id be tempted to use a normal cam in a custom housing, say made out of perspex and silicone, but use a seled cam like a bullet just in case

I've though a bit about getting one of these but never been able to justify the expense. I would be wary of overestimating what you might be able to see though. Water doesn't need to be very off clear before colours all go grey and distance disappears. I've even had the same effect with cams pointing into fully lit aquariums.
I'd be interested to know if it works though.

custom housings
I have housings available that are made from a soft plastic. I would be willing to ship you all some. What cubic dimensions are you talking about? You can see more about my product at www.utherwurld.com including sample underwater pics. I'm setting up a garden cam (link in my sig) that will help promote these cases and that i can take some cool timelapse shots of.
if you're interested in one just email me through the site with the cubic dimensions of your cam and i'll give you a quote on a custom one.
