Hardware Requirements

Post by JuanW »

Goodday,

what hardware requirements should i be looking at if i need to run 16 cameras
a day recording how much disk space will it take well there is movement the hole day 24 hour 7day a week 12 months etc.

What is the diff. between Modect and Mocord, i did read the manual but does not make sense "sorry i am not natively English."
I only want to record the motion detected or will that just be stupid ? i am looking at saving disk space

Does Zoneminder have play back? we sometimes have fights in the factory and then someone gets hurt "stabbings etc." and the police would like to see the cct

This come up from time to time. It really all depends on (a) what type of cameras you will be using, ie network or composite etc, what your frame rates are and your image size. If you search for 'axis bandwidth calculator' you should find some threads discussing this kind of requirements.

Modect on records when something is actually happening, Mocord records all the time but notices when something is happening and highlights it. You probably want Modect.

Yes, it does and events can be archived or uploaded via ftp etc. What kind of place do you work where people get stabbed a lot?
