suggestion about some issue related to zoneminder

Post by sugacapra »

hello, maybe is a risk of OT so admin if you think this and need to modify the subject or other feel free to modify...

During this week i talk with a friend, and describe the zoneminder project, and the use of videosurveillance.

In italy for example if you activate a videosurveillance in a "locale" you have to put sign advice to let people know about the active videosurveillance zone.

I read some information and search around to see the kind of "advice sign" present, and from this the idea start in my mind.

Why don't you sell some Zoneminder related item like Stikers or Sign?

Doing so will help you in obtaining funds and spread info about zoneminder ...

i think that stikers can be bought by anyone that like zoneminder and this can be really cool...

:-)

just my little idea..

i like the idea but creating an international sign would be 'difficult' i think as each country has different requirements

I like the idea, my only concern might be that I would not want to advertise what the equipment is for security reasons.
I will look into the cost of producing decals and signs and see if it would be fesible.

hi there,
glad you like it,
for sure, have an international "sign" is not easy but maybe is easy to do a "bare bone" of a sign to use... if needed i'm offering to try do something for italian..

also, a sticker would be relatively easy to do and sell, and i would happyly ake some and also, imho many others will take some :-)

this will not substitute the donations, but will help receiving some funds, and this program is indeed a valid one to support in any kind.

:P

A, not very good quality, jpeg of my current ZM sticker can be viewed here if it's any use to anyone. I don't use it for sticking on windows etc but rather for packages and other odds and sods but if anyone wants to produce something else with it on then feel free.

OK then whats the demand for these things as they will have to be made in advance and i hate to say 'paid' for. I will have a word with a printer and find out costs but i dont want to pay for 1000 and only sell 2. I have a few windows but i do like sunlight!

I expect they would make very attractive wallpaper for your house. Maybe also for your bedroom ceiling so ZM would be the last thing you see at night and the first in the morning. If it isn't already
