In 1.22.0 these values are also available by selecting one of the presets in the monitor config window.

That's a neat feature, I missed that first time!

Would it be too spammy to add b&w options to the Axis presets?

I use
/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi?resolution=640x480&color=0

640x480, colour grescale. ( color=0 )

I found that this uses considerably less cpu/memory/bandwidth than even 320x240 in 24bit colour, and with now 8 axis ip cams running here those kind of tweaks are kind of important. :) Colour not that important imo for surveillance.

Small suggestion, no paddy if not implemented and no problem to add manually.

Adding this is no problem. To be honest I didn't even know they could do B&W!

Yes - their web interface gives a wonderful section where you can "build" a url to the picture you want, with pulldowns for output size, jpeg quality, colour etc. Shows you the image and gives you a URL to use to fetch that in future. Other manufacturers could learn a lot!

I should stop before you start suspecting me of being an Axis plant. :)
