what should be defined in the user database

Post by antar »

Q1 :what should be defined in the user database:

"localhost" or the "192.168.1.xxx" ip of the camera

Q2: does the user have to be defined in the camera server

I think you may need to elaborate a bit as this question is somewhat confusing.
Are you asking about the zm db?
In the monitor settings you can use a host name if you manage you host files or your own dns. Other wise use IP's.

You only need a user for the camera if you want it authenticated.

Hope that helps,
Corey

When you change authentication options, you must restart zm so that those services start with the new settings. Otherwise all the child processes are using the auth method that they started with and not the current method as defined in the database which is where the web app pulls it's method realtime. Probably a good idea to stop the service, update the auth method, then start the service.
