Can you check to see if the event names have an (r) appended?
Nigitive on the (r) append. I just looked at about 500 events... No such animal. I have seen this before, but not under my current settings..which ARE producing the garbled images AND the signal events.... Again, don't know why, but only on the Axis camera.

What does the (r) mean?

I have really been checkin this and i have the disk full purge set at 70% now and am not getting the cannot wqrite error so it looks like the last disk in my LVM has a problem. But im still getting the above in my messages loga nd loads of events but currently only on the ipcams. The system is fine on its local cams. Now i will leave it running as i expect the same to start happening on my locals too.
Note not all ip cams are as badly affected and they are all 206's running in jpeg mode. Mjpeg seems worse.

Also note that the times when the events end and restsrt are not connected and 2 of the cams are right next to each other so it cant be network outage power issue etc.

WM Moore what firmware is in your cams as i have another 1.22.0 system without 206's without problems (pana blc10's and a 206m). Im wondering if the problem are an incompatability between the new 1.22.0 and 206's.

after 16:47 it started again. wtf
I need to get to the bottom of this. I have no clues. I think its some sort of clock issue as a restart fixes it for a while and it appears zm is ending the events. I had force end enabled and you can see it forcing the end of some events. I have disabled this now. Its on a amd x2 4200 via chipset board. Maybe a downgrade to 1.21.4? can i do that?

It's odd that a couple of messages up, the syslog entries are not in time order. I've never seen that before.

I will put a patch on here in a sec with some extra debug in it that might shed a bit of light on what is happening.

Here is the patch, all it will do is add a bit of extra info in the info lines.

I am more concerned though by the random time warps that appear in the logs. If your system time is warping like that then it would definately explain the behaviour of the events. I wonder if you can set up a simple script to just write the time every second or so to a file and then we can see if that does the same when your system goes wonky. Something like

Code: Select all

while [ 1 ]
do
date >> date.log
sleep 1
done
in bash should do it.

Ahh, you will need command line access to do a patch and rebuild or to run the script I suspect. I don't know whether webmin will grant you this kind of privilege or not if you don't have ssh running. I would always recommend leaving ssh going on a box if possible as you can run everything else over it, though make sure it is secured. if you have webmin, can you not start ssh?

If you are not using a source build of ZM then forget the patch and we will just run the script. To do this just copy the commands into a file, say timecheck.sh and then set it off in the background

Code: Select all

sh timecheck.sh &
Do it somewhere like /tmp though.
