just a thought
I haved used ignore max fps with succes on the single chip capture cards but causes no end of grief with a few ip cams.
Could it be changed to
normal fps
alarm fps
and still have ignore max on alarm. I would then use 1 fps normally (or even 0.5) and have alarm at 4 fps. I currently do this but i use a feamseskip and this uses cycles to analyse when nothing is happening

yes i am using jpg sourcses. maybe a ignore fps max setting could be done as a global, so if i wanted to ignore the 1 fps used but limit it to 5, thecreason im having a problem is if multiple ip cams alarm together as the machine cannot handle it
