looking for the rpms

Post by pre-newbie »

Hi Corey,
I just finished assembling an Athlon64 with a board for 8 cameras, and would like to test ZM. I have suse 10.0 64.
Are your rpms suitable for suse too? If so, please tell me where I can get them.
Thanks!

RPMS for suse

Post by pre-newbie »

I am stuck just in the few first steps trying to install ZM. I am very new on this, and to find RPMs for Suse was my hope to get it running.
Thanks a lot any way!

installing ZM in suse

Post by pre-newbie »

thanks for asking!

Sure I did it. I try with the howto. But I got stuck with errors on the Perl CPAN section.
Warnings on prerequicite not found for Astro, Device and Time instructions.

I have checked the package list posted on the howto, several times. Then I do not know what are the missing rpms.
I use suse 10.0 64 and I installed installed the packages for php4, mysql both, for 64 and 32 bits. Nothing changed. I posted the details on the same forum as the suse howto, but no replies so far.

I try to follow the readme installation manual, but I got lost in the first steps. I am a very pre-newbie.

Any help would be very appreciated.

perl rpm

Post by pre-newbie »

Thanks Martymoose,

I looked for perl-x10 with YAST (yum-like but in suse) and I found more perl modules but not this one. In pbone I found perl-x10 for suse but it needs Astro:SunTime and Device::SerialPort. Neiher of those I found with Yast (looking for what modules the rpm includes) nor pbone. In Cpan.org the modules are in src format.

I checked the rpm listed in the howto, and stored in the FTP server that is proposed in the howto, and I did not find the missing modules.

I will continue tomorrow. Thanks a lot!

Help on installation

Post by wcchiou »

Does anyone know what's wrong with the following?
I already had Corey's CTU installed in there.
How do I fix it?
========================================================
[root@zoneminder ~]# rpm -Uvh zm-1.22.0-1.8.fc.root.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
zm = 1.21.3 is needed by (installed) zm-X10-1.21.3-1.3_FC3.root.i386
========================================================

Thanks.

You need to remove the zm-x10 package. X10 is now part of the main package.
You might want to wait for the new 1.22.1 RPMs though. It should be ready in a couple days.

Cheers,
Corey
