Motion Detection Problems

Post by mr_varmit »

I have the BT878A cards. The newest Zoneminder. I have 4 camera's. I have one camera that is almost 20 feet away and someone walks through the door, it picks them up and a EVENT happens which works perfectly. I have 3 more cameras. All are in a wide open area. A person can do jumping jacks 30 or 40 feet away and it picks up nothing. I can walk about 10 to 15 feet in front of it and it works. I am using all the default settings. Is there a way to turn up the sensitivity of these cameras. Could someone give me exact instructions on how this is done. I have just about done everything I know how. Does this software have to LEARN the enviroment? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to tune in your zone settings as discribed in the Documentation. This varies, and there is no one setting for all and depends on the check method you want to use but, you can lower the the min alarm settings to suit your needs.

Sometimes the default settings in 1.22.0 are a bit dense. Instead try selecting one of the zone presets as a starting point and going from there.
