Problem with playback from another pc in local network

Post by Cka3o4Huk »

Got problem with playback from another pc in local network.

All looks fine, even get a row of events (in playback - using Vision Viewer 2), but I can't watch them from that PC. As I understand problem is in ffmpeg - maybe there is not up to date version or different versions on those computers.

Strange is that even on pc where ZM is installed I can't watch video from cam when I choose ZM_STREAM_METHOD = mpeg. It said that I have to download some plugins, but I already downloaded a lot of updates... When i select jpeg all works fine except playback from another pc.

Got ffmpeg version 0.4.9-5.pm.cvs 20060409 i686 on comp where ZM is. (SUSE 10.0)
And ffmpeg version 0.4.9 - pre1 on comp where vision viewer is (Win XP prof SP2)

Could someone give advice what I have to do, to watch playbacks...

Hi there,

I've also installed ZM on SuSE 10.0. How did you get rid of alle the dependencies when installing the (lib)ffmpeg rpm????
Can you tell me where to find all them (the're not on de 10.0 distro DVD. That is: Yast can't find them).

Thanks in advance

viseon viewer (zm4ms) doesnt use ffmpeg only for video creation if you cant playback then it is probably a path problem on playback. The default paths are for mandrake based and i think fedora based installs and if you have chnaged any folder names it wont be able to play back.
If you can either
a: let me into your zm box and i will get the required path for you or
b: use the web interface from the xp machine and when you playback an event right click on the imae and record the path and let me know what it is

I will then be able to tell you what to enter in the playback path in setting in zm4ms

Also note to others could you highlight if its a zm4ms problem or a zm problem as i nearly missed this one thinking it to be a web issue. Thanks

Hmmm, nope my paths are correct, I changed them manually, so it isn't problem.

On the comp where ZM is (SUSE) I can select an event (in ZM console) and it will be shown as video, but when I'm trying to do this on a different comp (using console with admin rights )selected event is shown as some amount of images - I even can generate video from them, but it ain't suites me...

I need that the man to whom I wan't set only Vision Viewer could select an event and watched it... I have the list of events in viewer - but they aren't playing :(

Although why I think problem is in ffmpeg - when I'm changing ZM_STREAM_METHOD from jpeg to mpeg it stops showing what is on cams - theres written "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" - maybe I missed something in install (really don't think so, installed everything what was told in manuals and tips )?

the path to get the images is generated from the table on the left.

Can you playback using the web interface on the xp machine?

I can watch it - in jpeg mode, but only those events that happen in this time, I can't watch any event that happened before - I must generate video from images and then watch it...

if you cant get images from the web interface then zm4ms wont be able to get them either.
You need to find out why you cant get the images from the web interface then zm4ms should work. Its probably a permission thing but check your logs on the zm server
