Can you post any errors you are seeing from the logs, specifically /var/log/messages?

I have also modified the regexp a little more since posting the patch so it's possible that it didn't fix your particular issue.

The main cause of my lack of vision seems to have been the configuration of ZM_PATH_ZMS = /cgi-bin/nph-zms (this was I believe the unchanged setting of the installation). Setting it = /cgi-bin/zms clears things up quite a bit : I can now see something. javascript:emoticon(':shock:')

I updated & configured a firefox/linux browser with as many streaming plugins as I could find & yet it still doesn't seem to work with ZM_STREAM_METHOD = mpeg : had to use jpeg. I also set ZM_MPEG_LIVE_FORMAT = avi: not sure if any other combinations work. I am not using the "CPU Crushing" Cambozola.jar ! ... yippee

I don't seem to be getting the shared memory errors I was getting last week: the only change I believe I have made was to update the procps package. Shared memory errors previously showed up in the zmwatch.log.

There isn't anything interesting in the /var/log/messages but these are messages in zmdc.log around the act of trying to change the state of a monitor to Mocord:-

Yes I have this problem too but just noticed I haven't installed ffmpeg-devel which contains libavformat.a.

I did have libavformat.a & .so installed.

Can anyone give any clues on what exactly is supposed to happen when a camera is switched into a 'monitor' or other non None state?

all the states are in the manual but if you select monitor it will alow you to monitor the input ie it will stream images but not record anything

I was thinking in more technical terms: ie. what additions are made to which database tables (if any), what processes are stopped/started, what parameters etc. Looks to me at this point that something isn't happening to the database ... but is it a DB problem or a problem with the process meant to record the change ... or even the process intended to act on the change?
