Have to reload bttv everytime I change anything

Everytime I change from Monitor to Modect or anything back and forth to just restarting the daemons I have to reload the bttv driver or I get nothing out of my one camera at the moment. I am running Debian Testing with cameras I bought from sites you have reccommended. I dont remember what models and what not. I dont think this is normal and if it is not is there a setting I need to set to get around this behavior? I tried searching the forums for this problem but had a hard time finding anything hence my message.

debian is not fully supported yet as there seems to be lots of issues with this distro. To test yo could either use the live cd or ctu zm
