problem running more than 2 cameras in 640x480 or in any...

Post by intenseblu »

hey guys, i am running 4 Sony SNC-M1W cameras over landline (not using the wireless) ... i can have all running in level 5 image quality (highest setting) at 320x240 but when i switch them to 640x480 i can only run 2 cameras and they have to be set to the lowest image quality to work otherwise i get a black screen where the image stream should be ...

i already increased the shared memory level which fixed my initial problem where none of them worked no matter what ...

anyone have any ideas ?

well it might be an idea to put a 640x480 jpeg on your webserver and ref thaton a test monitor to see if its a machine or camera issue

While I'm installing a fresh 1.22.2 to try to run all the Sonys in 640x480, here's a question: could it be your browser? I rememebr a problem I had when I went to 8 monitors - Netscape only showed 4 streams.

Then I read a post where it recommended changing the number of allowed simultaneous connections to the browser.

That's accomplished by entering "about:config" as the url location; this shows all the settable parameters. Find the networking/connection settings, and change the simultaneous connections and/or streams to, say, 75.

I'll try to find the post...

i already set all those parameters in firefox but i am glad you reminded me about that config page ... i think you are onto something and it really might be only a issue with the browser ... i'll double check the settings when i get into work tomorrow and report back ...

thanks for the great ideas guys ... i was having trouble finding a new point to start trouble shooting.

Excellent! Not to mention, huge [sigh] of relief...about halfway through installing the newest ZM, I realized I only have three SNC-type cameras... :)

Camera Configs

Post by watterud »

I have a Sony SNC-M1W and am wondering what settings you used to get the cameras working in 640 x 480 mode. I am having difficulty getting this camera to work at all in ZM 1.22.2.

I am going to attempt a test this week with the M1W. I'll keep you posted.

It *should* be the same as the M3W: Use IE to set the camera to 640x480 MJPEG mode, then tell ZM that the camera is 640x480.
