Disk usage still growing

Post by essup »

Hello,
i'm using ZM 1.22.2 for a few months now for the company i work for. I use the following filter:
IF date <= -31 days
OR disk usage => 80 %
then automatically delete all hits
The disk usage is at ~70% and still growing ~1% each day. The event button just shows all events in this time space (30 days). But ZM still eats up all my hdd space!

You filter says that if you have over 80% used or the events are over 31 days then clear up, but then you say you only have 70% used and all your events are less than 30 days? So I'm not sure which events you are expecting to be deleted.

Mhm ... right.
Actually i want all entries beeing deleted which are older than 30 days. But if these events in the last 30 days take up more than 80% disk usage the latest entries should be deleted, until disk usage goes <80%.

The disk space calculation is just how full your disk is. It cannot calculate how much of your disk is taken up by a particular group of events unfortunately.

ok, i understand.
so ... but this still is strange. ZM is running for a couple of weeks now and each day the disk usage grows ~1%. The filter has been set some weeks ago (so this is not the first month were this filter comes in to play), so i assume the disk usage should stop at a specific percent usage e.g. 75%, but it doesn't. I took a look in the folder where the events are saved and everything seems to be as it should be, meaning: there aren't any old events saved on the disk.
If anyone got an idea please let me know, thank you.

Is there a possibility to run filters only if the system load is low/the cameras are not in record state? (zm doesn't record events during day, just at night)

thx in advance

Not currently. However allowing a check on system load, in the same way you can check for disk space, seems sensible so I will add it in.
