How to use ZMLiveCD_1.22.2.1 ?

Post by hrparikh »

Hi,

I am new to linux and also to ZM. Can anyone suggest me how can I get ZM running? My server has 2 Dual Core Intel CPUs, 4GB RAM, 640GB harddrive. Currently I have FC5 installed on this server. I have downloaded ZMLiveCD_1.22.2.1.iso. How can I proceed in this case?

Thank you in advance.

hi James,

After I downloaded ZM1.22.2.1_livecd.iso, I burned a bootable disk with this. I have fedora core 5 installed on the server. When I insert this bootable disk and boot the server using this disk, it does not show any GUI. It goes to a command prompt (similar to DOS in windows). I can see the folders in the disk when I use 'dir' but can not do anything else. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong or if I should use some other version of ZM.

Thanks

it would appear your gfx card isnt detected
what is it

you will have to pass some boot options like vga=771
or vgadrv=vesa

one thing to try when you get the prompt log in as
root
root
and enter
start x

then report the errors
