ZMINIT is not in ZoneMinder-1.22.3 package

Post by jwf2466 »

ZMINIT is not in ZoneMinder-1.22.3 package .... also the directory /usr/lib/zm/init is also not created. I'm guessing library files aren't installed either. The installation runs fine untill initializing the database. Also zm.conf is not installed in /etc/. Any ideas?

Hope this helps! And looking forward to the next FIX.

Sorry Corey... I'm refering to the ZoneMinder-1.22.3.tar.gz download package. The file zminit is missing from the scripts directory. Also the install fails to create the directory /usr/lib/zm/init. I followed the install for Fedora Core 6 exactly on a fresh FC6 install. ZM runs fine but requires database user and password. I have had no problems with configuring ZM in previous versions or on various machines. Should I create the directories ZM and INIT manually and copy zminit from the previous version? Also, zm.conf failed to create itself and install to /etc/ on first install attempt. On second attempt I looked and it was there. I am going to try a fresh and complete install. I will make a copy of the install log and post it.

Still standing and breathing.... must be a good day!

zminit was acidently added in the 1.22.2 source package. I had Phil remove it as it broke other distros whch we can't have. Maybe furthur down the line we might add a redhat folder to place distro spacific scripts along with folders for other distros. I am also currently revamping zminit to make it even simpler and adding the proper error checking in it. It will be available in all the rpms though. If you follow the Installation instructions you will do fine though.
