Signal 8 is Floting Point Exception. You normally should get a backtrace when this happens, possibly in /var/log/messages? That should give more info, but my initial suspicion would be to check your zones and make sure that they are all in range of the image dimensions etc.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the suggestion, I redefined the Zones so they are not right at the border of the frame.
Have to monitor the system for some days to see if it solves my problem.

Right on the border should be fine, and it should not let you exceed it from now on. However in a previous upgrade, some rounding errors during the migration caused some zones to be one pixel out, which then caused random errors for some people.

Ok helped to remove the signal 8 errors, but I am still getting this
12/21/06 03:47:59.366288 zmdc[3405].ERR ['zmc -m 1' exited abnormally, exit status 255]
a couple of times during the night when I am using modect.

Is this normal ?
I have switched on full debug, but i don't get any errors.

Besides the occasional exit status 255, everything works fine.

Thanks for a great product!!

Merry Christmas

I am putting some more debug in at every exit point to trap these kind of intermittent issues, as at the moment I think it can be a bit tricky to track down.
