Hi all,
Got a machine that was built from the LiveCD and they lost power a few days ago. Now the machine stops booting at "INIT: version 2.85 booting".
If I hit "ctrl-c" it displays the message; /proc/mounts: no such file or directory 4 times and thats it. Goes no further.
I'm able to boot in to single mode by hitting ESC and then typing;
zm single init=/bin/bash [enter]
At this point I can see the partitions with fdisk;
Device B Start End Blocks id Sytem
/dev/hda1 * 1 501 4024251 83 Linux
/dev/hda2 502 19457 152264070 5 Extended
/dev/hda5 502 704 1630566 82 Linux swap
/dev/hda6 705 19457 150633441 83 LInux
I did a e2fsck -p /dev/hda6 and it said it repair one orphaned file, but that was about it.
Any suggestions on how to get this puppy back up and running without starting over?
Thanks,
vp
