Card Trouble

Post by Anamax »

Hi i bought a cheap 16 port 240 fps card on ebay. it uses the same chipset as a lot of the cards you guys havementioned. a few people have mentioned they changes the modprobe.conf file, hate to be a complete n00b, but this is my first time using linux, what did you change in that file, to get it working.

the card i bought is as below

Depending on your card the line to add would look something like this:
options bttv card=xx tuner=y

If the card is not being automaticaly setup, then you have to add a line simular to above. This assumes that you are using a version of linux that uses a modprobe.conf of coarse.
See the documentation for your kernel at /usr/share/doc/kernel/v4l/cardlist as it will discribe the options available.
