use mplayer to get video ?

Post by depe »

Hi,
Its possible to use externals programs (like mplayer) to feed zoneminder ?
I have a MPG4 Cam (no jpg or mjpg), and made litle scripts to take jpg from my cam using mplayer.
By my point of view I have 2 options, use this jpg to feed zoneminder or try to use mplayer to get the video.
I installed zoneminder yersterday, great soft.

Thanks for your help.

im not replying as i cant see how you would do this. The jpeg way would work as you can make zm grab the fpgs form the file system but you will need to overite the same file. You will only achive 1 fps this way i beleive. Good luck on your research
