ptz cam doesn´t return to home position

Post by moses »

Hello,

I configured my ptz cam and defined some presets(fixed positions) where
the cam should go. So far everything is working fine.

But according the docs it should be possible, that the cam returns to a fixed
home-position. So in the monitor configuration (control panel) I defined the
"Return-Location" as well as the "Return-Delay" -> but unfortunately
nothing happens.

Any hint?

Best regards

Honestly I have know idea since I don't know what cam it is you have.
Are you sure you configured the correct settings in the cam?
I would imagen there would also be an option somewhere to enable and disable this feature.

thank you for your answer:

I made the following:

-> camera configuration -> control I defined:
"Return Location " = Preset_1
"Return Delay" = 5

-> Control Capability of my Camera I defined:
Type=remote
Can Move, Can Move Diagonally, Can Pan, Can Tilt,
Has Presets, Num Presets = 16, Has Home Preset, Can Set Presets

-> In the camera Control-Script I programmed the sections:
preset_goto, preset_set, preset_home

With this configurations I perfectly can work with presets. I can save and
recall them within ZM.

But the Camera never automatically returns to it´s (in Zoneminder defined)
Homeposition? Also in the Logs I do not see an error-message.

Also Motion-Dedetcion does not stop when I pan/tilt the cam to another position.
So everytime I use the pan/tilt function I get an alarm.

best regards

the detection wont stop, but if you modify your zone settings you can get it to ignore huge changes in the scene ie more than 70%

Did you have any success with this issue? I also have all my cameras setup (PZ8111 and DCS6620) and have saved home positions setup. If I click the home button in zoneminder control screen, cameras to go their home position, as expected. However, nothing happens when I try to use the "Return Location = Home" feature. I don't even know where to even start debugging this. Any idea what errors I should be looking at in the log? Thanks.

Getting this feature working is really critical since saved zones will only work from a saved preset.
