The Swedish police together with with some other organisations has set up a document with guidelines for cctv surveillance systems.
Some parts of the document is only of interest to Swedes since it covers Swedish law.
But other parts might be of use to anyone, like the test-chart that is useful for planning camera-placement and lens-choice
by giving you an estimate on whether the images will be useful for following an event or for identifying people.
And there are maintenance routines and some advice about how to handle captured video in case you have a incident.
