Post by matt91 »

i have been looking at some capture cards and there are quite a lot on ebay for sub £10. i dont need much FPS but i do need it to be able to work on linux with zoneminder. can anybody advise me on a card and if they know weather or not it works. i would rather not spend too much and i live in the UK.

Thank you, Matthew.

Don't know about that one, but I've just taken delivery of a generic card sold as SK2000F. Cost around £13 (including delivery) and is working fine with Fedora 6 and ZoneMinder.

It reports as - Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11) with lspci.

Can't tell you how well it would work with more than one camera 'cos I only have one at present. :)

I'm expecting another even cheaper one in the next few days - I'll report back when I get it.

Cheers,

Colin
