Crash

Post by robi »

Hi!

I experience hangs with my LiveCD mandriva 2007.0. Since I'm not a real linux guru, my question: can anybody point me in the right direction? Where to look? Linux logs, where? Are there any specialized sites you can recommend, that deal with Mandriva's crashes or so?

/var/log/messages on most systems would be your first point of call

Found this:

Code: Select all

kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:03.0[A] -> GSI 23 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
kernel: bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:02:03.0, irq: 17, latency: 32, mmio: 0xe0000000
kernel: bttv0: detected: Leadtek WinFast VC 100 [card=114], PCI subsystem ID is 107d:6607
kernel: bttv0: using: Winfast VC100 [card=114,autodetected]
kernel: bttv0: using tuner=4
kernel: bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found
kernel: bttv0: registered device video0
kernel: bttv0: registered device vbi0
kernel: bttv0: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 .. ok
kernel: bt878: AUDIO driver version 0.0.0 loaded
kernel: bt878: Bt878 AUDIO function found (0).
kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:03.1[A] -> GSI 23 (level, low) -> IRQ 17

kernel: bt878_probe: card id=[0x6607107d], Unknown card.
kernel: Exiting..
kernel: ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:02:03.1 disabled
kernel: bt878: probe of 0000:02:03.1 failed with error -22
Surprisingly, the card works with ZM (pretty well, however observing this)

Also this:

Code: Select all

kernel: ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initramfs... error, file /DSDT.aml not found.
Any ideas?

I stopped and disabled acpi and acpid at boot, also disabled the ipw3945d... don't know why was it there at all.
