Incorrect logging date

Post by Drakeweb »

Here's an interesting problem:

Zoneminder shows the normal computer time and date on its webadmin page. My computer shows the same time and date when questioned. However, on a camera view, the logged date is one day ahead. The time is correct.

Does anyone have any ideas how this happened, and how I fix it?

Thanks,

Adam

Is it exactly one day ahead, or UTC time?

Just a few questions????
What distro/release are you using?
What time zone do you have configured?
Is the system set to UTC time?
Did this happen initially or after an update/change?

Linux Details

Post by Drakeweb »

My details are as follows:

Linux version - Ubuntu 6.10
Time set to BST (syncing to ntp.ubuntu.com)

I didn't notice whether it worked prior to an upgrade or not. This is the first time I've installed Zoneminder and the server itself is only a few months old (installation wise).

The logging clock is exactly one day ahead. Currently it's April 6, 22:33 and that's what zmadmin shows. The camera monitor shows 07/04/07 22:33.

UPDATE

Post by Drakeweb »

Ok, now it's April 7, and both the zm admin page and the camera logging data are showing the same date! No more "one day ahead".

I'll wait until tomorrow and look to see if it falls behind a day, or stays in sync now. Hmmm ...

PUBLIC APOLOGY:

To all who have wasted time reading this thread - I am a complete klutz! There was nothing wrong at all with the logging date - I was just reading it wrong!

Explanation:

On Friday April 6, the date read: 07/04/06
(I read this as April 7, and completely missed the 06 reference)
On Saturday April 7, the date read: 07/04/07
(I read this as April 7, correctly!)
Today, Sunday April 8, the date read: 07/04/08
(I initially thought "oh no, the year's gone funny" until I realised my complete stupidity!)

So, profuse apologies to all who took the time to read my thread. Please feel free to laugh heartily at my expense ...

 Some times it's the small details that always seen to be over looked as most are used to a different format and we are all good at getting set in what we expect.
Been there and done that

Thanks for the follow up though, much appreciated.
Cheers,
