Unable to get second camera to work (bt878 card)

Post by jasont.t »

Hello,
I hope someone can help me out here? I've recently bought a second camera (color) and have connected it up to my 4 port card (IVC-110), which I believe has a single bt878 chip. Now the card works fine if only one of the two cameras is configured to work, i.e. the “Function” value is set to Monitor, Modect, Record, Mocord or Nodect, while the other camera is set to “None”. It doesn't matter which camera or which port it is plugged into, when both cameras are configured to be operating, both cameras picture are distorted and are unusable.

I suspect the problem is in the modprobe configuration file however I've not been able to come up with the right configuration. The problem appears to be similar to the one mentioned in http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8622.

I'm running Zoneminder 1.22.3 on Ubuntu Dapper (6.06), and please find below a extract from dmesg. Does anyone have any suggestions, thank you?

All inputs on one/each chip must be configured exactly the same (size and palette)

I have a color camera and a b/w camera, does this mean I wont be able to use both these at the same time on the same card?

You will, if you use RGB24 setting also for your B/W camera.

Thank you, its now working.

Putting all the cameras to RGB24 and setting all at the same resolution fixed the issue.
