Pull images from DVR

Post by sjoyce »

I currently use ZM for about 50 Axis IP cameras and it's working quite well. There is also a separate camera system here that is used in the elevators and all those images are recorded onto a standard DVR. Rather than monitor two independent systems, I'd like to try to make ZM pull the images for the elevator cams straight from the DVR. Here are the catches:

1. Those cameras are connected to the DVR via coax, so I can't connect directly to them from ZM.

2. I don't have access to the DVR yet. If it has a similar file structure to a camera, then maybe I can pull it off.

My question is - has anyone successfully done this before?

Plug a DVR capture card into your ZM box, and hook the coax cables with splitters to it. This way, they can live together in parrallel until you finally decide to permanently remove the old dvr.

A DVR card ain't that expensive and requires less CPU time than pulling the images digitally from the existing DVR machine.

Hi!

I am in the same situation. I've a video IP system working with ZM and there is a DVR with 6 coaxial cameras working alone. The DVR model is TRX-16CD from GOLMAR (URMET log also appear in the components)

Does anybody know those marks (Golmar or Urmet)?

The DVR have a Ethernet interface. The system provides a client software for Windows to connect it. I've got connection with DVR and I can view the cameras and I can modify DVR features from my remote client.

How could I include the DVR into my ZM system? I've tried with its IP dir, but I need more features. Can anybody help us?. Thanks

Sorry for my English.

I've asked the company for a test camera and a test DVR so I can experiment a bit. The DVR is web-accessible. So, if I can access the file system via the URL, then connecting it to ZM shouldnt' be a problem. If not, then I'll try a second ZM box with the coaxial cables from the cams connected directly to it.
